Pred studijem sem ze splanirala kje vse bom imela studijske koticke po hisi. Eden je tudi v delu spalnice, kjer se lahko popolnoma odmaknem od Andyja in otrok za nekaj ur ce potrebno. Pisalna miza je del Andyjeve dediscine. Mislim, da jo je uporabljala njegova stara mama po ocetovi strani. Ta vikend zagotovo, ko poskusam pogruntat kako napisat porocilo knjige. A ima kdo kaj pojma kako napises porocilo knjige za magisterij in v stilu APA?

Before starting the graduate degree I came up with a few studying corners in the house. One of them is in a part of the bedroom where I can completely remove myself from Andy and kids. The desk belonged to Andy's grandma on his dad's side. I need to remove myself this weekend while trying to figure out how to write a book review in APA style. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Enzo je zagotovo fant. Vsak teden obisce v soli knjiznico in prinese domov knjigo. Njegovo izbiro prebiramo pred spanjem. Ce me poznate potem veste, da nisem narejena za zivali. Do sedaj sem se prenesla knjigo o kacah, kuscarjih, zelvah, krokodilih, dinozavrih. Danasnja zbirka me je pa potisnila cez rob. Uspela sem prebrat samo prvo stran o vampirjih. Drugo samo odprla in vidla neko golazen in zaprla knjigo. Se je pritozeval in hkrati mu je slo na smeh, ker me je sprovociral. Na sreco zacenja Andy proste dni in bosta lahko skupaj studirala.

Enzo is a boy for sure. Every week he visits school's library and brings home a book. His selection is read before bed every night. If you know me, you know I am not a huge fan of animals. So far I was able to tolerate books on snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles, and dinosaurs. But today's selection pushed me over the edge. I was able to read only the first page on vampires. Opened the second one, saw some insects and closed it. Enzo was complaining but at the same time he has a smile on his face. I think he loved seeing my reaction. Luckily Andy is starting his days off and they can read the book together.

Prejsnji in ta teden imamo v vrtcu prodajo kuhinjskih potrebscin znamke Pampered Chef za obnovo igrisca. Prvic se pocutim zelo blizu namenu in sem poslala ze dva emaila sirsim prijateljem in druzini. Zelo mocno drzim pesti, da bi skupaj z vsemi starsi nabrali dovolj denarja za nova igrala.

Nikoli preje nisem verjela v dobrodelne zbirke, ker so vedno nekako tuje in mi niso bile blizu ali da bi lahko videla koncni rezultat. Tokrat je drugace, ker so vse tovarisice mi zelo ljube, ker so vzgojile Enza od njegovega petega meseca naprej in Olivo od sestega meseca. Vem in se zavedam, da otroka prezivita z njimi mnogo vec casa kot z menoj v celem tednu. Cenim njihov trud, ljubezen do mojih otrok in cesanje Olive, ker se meni zelo poredko pusti. Njim pa vedno. :)

Last and this week we have a Pampered Chef fundraiser at the daycare. We are trying to raise enough money to renovate the playground. It is the first time I feel close to the cause and I support it wholeheartedly. I have already sent out two emails to extended family and friends. I am very much hoping that all parents at the daycare step together and we all succeed at raising enough money.

I have never before been a part of a fundraiser and I have never believed in them. They were always something that I never saw a result of it. This time it is different as Enzo has been attending the daycare since he was five months old and Olive from six months on. I am in love with all teachers and I admire their work on daily basis. I am aware that my kids spend with them more time in a week than with me at home. I am grateful for their love to my children and combing her hair as she rarely lets me do it. :)

vneto uho/ear infection

Z Enzovo pomocjo odkrili, da ima Oliva vnetje levega usesa. Jo odpeljali na urgenco, kjer so ji predpisali kapljice za uho. Se bori proti njim z vso silo samo zato ker ne ve kaj so. V lekarni kupili nova drzala za zobne scetke. Popoldne odpeljala oba v trgovino Old Navy kjer sem nameravala kupit samo eno rojstnodnevno darilo. Prisla iz trgovine s puloverjem, hlacami, dvema paroma cevljev za Enza in pomladansko jakno za Olivo. Zadovoljna ker zares kupila samo stvari ki jih v koncni fazi oba otroka rabita. Smesno edino ker nisem planirala na njih danes.

With Enzo's help we discovered Olive has an ear infection on left ear. Took her to Urgent Care where she got drops for ear. She is fighting taking them with all force. I think it is only because she doesn't know what to expect. At the pharmacy also bought new toothbrush holders.

In the afternoon I took both kids to Old Navy where I was planning to buy only one birthday present. Ended up leaving the store with a sweatshirt, one pair of pants, and two pairs of shoes for Enzo and a spring jacket for Olive. I don't feel bad as these are all things both kids need. It is funny only because I was not planning on getting all of these things.

1. Zajtrk z dudo in deko. 2. Hranjenje pticev v pizami v dezevno jutro. 3. Gledanje filmov z z bratom/sestro. 4. Odhod v sluzbo. 5. Nova prevleka za blazino. V vrtcu se Oliva seli v starejso skupino in rabi blazino in deko. Enzo je imel vedno svojo posebno blazino in sedaj tudi Oliva.

1. Breakfast with pacifier and blanket. 2. Feeding birds in pjs on rainy morning. 3. Watching movies with the sibling. 4. Leaving for work. 5. New pillow case. Olive is being moved up to an older group and needs to have her own pillow and blanket. Enzo used to have his special pillow case and now it is Olive's turn.

V ponedeljek so klicali iz sole, ce ima Enzo zares spanscino. Na zalost je moral po soli samo v popoldansko varstvo in ni bilo spanscine za male solarje. Sva se z Andyjem odlocila, da s prihajajocim ponedeljkom zacne s spanscino, ker je na tako poseben nacin izrazil zeljo.
Zvecer bili sami trije brez Andyja na vecerji pri starsih. Oliva je sedela v mojem narocju in zelela pit vodo iz kozarca. Se ji je zaletela in sva dobile obe njeno vecerjo po vseh cunjah. Na veliko sreco se nam ni bilo treba peljat dalec domov, kjer je bila prva postaja v pralnici.
Zvecer ko oddala otroke v posteljo naj bi brala studijsko literaturo in bluzim. Ne morem se pripravit do branja ceprav bi bilo obvezno potrebno. Urnik sluzba, druzina in studij ni najlazji.
Namesto s hujsanjem zacela z zdravim zivljenjem. Izgubila ze nekaj kil in dnevno opazujem nadaljni napredek. Obozujem aplikacijo MyFitnessPal. Zelim si rezultate pospesit pa nimam casa za hojo ali tek. Upam, da bi dosegla tezo pred Enzom do poletja. In potem bo veliko nakupovanja novih cunj.
Pogresam fotografijo. Pogresam kamero. Pogresam nove slike otrok na racunalniku.

On Monday they called from school if Enzo has a Spanish class. Unfortunately he only had to attend an After Care program and there was no Spanish for kindergartners. Andy and I have decided to sign him up for Spanish class that starts this coming Monday as he has shown an interest in it without us even knowing.
Tonight Andy's parents made dinner for the three of us while Andy is working. Olive was sitting in my lap drinking water from a glass. It went down the wrong way and her whole dinner car up all over our clothes. Luckily we did not have to drive far to get home and the first stop was laundry room.
After kids went to bed I should jump into reading for school. But instead I am killing time and have a hard time opening pages. The schedule of work, family and studying is not the easiest.
Instead of going on a diet I started living healthy. I have already lost some weight and am looking forward to further progress daily. Love the application MyFitnessPal. I wish to be able to progress further but do not have time for walking or running. I am hoping to get to pre-Enzo weight by summer. And then there will be lost of shopping for cute clothes.
I miss photography. I miss my camera. I miss new pictures of kids on the computer.

Otroka se ful rada skrivata. Celo Oliva postaja boljsa v iskanju kotickov po hisi. Najljubse pa ji je skrivanje v avtu za vreckami nakupljene specerije. A najdete Enza na tretji sliki?
Med studijem ta teden se naucila novo besedo. Mnozina od focus je foci. Sem najprej mislila, da je sosolec naredil tipkarsko napako dokler nisem precekirala slovar. Studij je kar zahteven in se velikokrat sprasujem ce je bila prava odlocitev.
Sivam naprej cunje za puncko in so mi v totalen uzitek. Mislim da niti ne sivam toliko za Olivo kot sama za sebe.
Vceraj imela bozansko jutro s sosedo na caju zjutraj. Danes zvecer eno drugo na vecerji. Mi je nasa soseska bozanska zaradi the beznih druzenj.
Enzo ima jutri v soli dan, ko se lahko oblecejo kot kaj si zelijo bit ko odrastejo. On si je izbral Ninja. Po iskanju informacij na internetu sem mu rekla da ninja ne more bit. In se je nato odlocit za ucitelja karateja.

Kids love to play hide and seek. Even Olive is getting better at finding spots in the house. Her favorite is hiding in the car behind groceries bags. Can you find Enzo on the third picture?
This week while studying I learned a new word. A plural of focus is foci. At first I thought a classmate made a typo until I checked a dictionary. Grad school is not easy and a lot of times I am asking myself if the decision was a right one.
I continue to sew clothes for the doll and I love every minute of it. I think I am not so much making them for Olive as myself.
Yesterday morning I had a great time with a neighbor over for tea. Tonight another neighbor stopped by for dinner. I am in love with our neighborhood to offer us these connections.
Tomorrow at school Enzo gets to dress in what he would like to be when he grows up. He picked up Ninja. After some research on the internet I told him he cannot be a ninja. He decided to be a karate teacher.

Vsake toliko casa me presini ideja in o teh vabilih sem ze nekaj casa sanjala. Vceraj mi je uspelo nastudirat celo stvar. Oblikovat vabilo v programih, zmanjsat fotografijo, sprintat, razrezat, nalepit. Na veliko sreco sem potrebovala samo stiri. Praznovanje bo zelo majhno in upam, da prijetno. Razmisljam o jedilniku in ostalih okraskih. Medtem ko zelo pocasi koncujem obleke za puncko.

Every once in a while I get an idea and I have been dreaming of these invitations. Yesterday I was able to figure out the whole thing. Design invitation in different programs, edit the picture, print, cut, glue. Luckily I only needed four. The celebrations is going to be small and I hope nice. I am thinking of a menu and the rest of decorations. While I am finishing clothes for the doll.

Vecino casa preziveli v hisi ker vzunaj mrzlo. Oliva se v soboto zbudila z rahlo vrocino. Prosila Andyjeve starse, da prisli cuvat, da na hitro sibala po opravkih. Se celo uspela dobit z Andyjem v novi kavarni za kapucino. Pravi kapucino in ne lonec kave z mlekom. Certala Olivo, kuhala vecerjo, delala vabila za Olivino rojstnodnevno praznovanje, prala, in se igrala z Enzom in Olivo. Skrivanje z dvetletnikom ni mozno ker si izdan se predno se igra zacne. Vseeno zabavno. Odlicni pocasni dnevi.

Most of the time spent inside as it is cold outside. Olive woke up with slight fever on Saturday. I asked Andy's parents to come watch them while I ran errands. Ended up meeting Andy for a cappuccino at the new coffee shop. A real cappuccino and not coffee with a ton of milk. Cuddled Olive, cooked dinner, made invitations for Olive's birthday party, did laundry and played with Enzo and Olive. Playing hide and seek with a two year old is impossible. Your spot is given away even before the game starts. Still lots of fun. Great slow days.

Koncana puncka. Zaenkrat je se gola, ker se nisem imela casa ji sesit oblek. Je ok, ker zaenkrat se moram tako ali tako se skrivat. Naj bi dobila obleko, hlace, mikico. Mogoce kaksen izdelek za ta vikend. Ne morem se odlocit ce rabi usta ali naj pustim brez. Mnenje?
Magistrski studij se je sele zacel in bom kar zaposlena cez naslednjih 16 tednov. Veliko branja, komentiranja, pisanja. Danes zvecer upam na prebranih 40 strani.
Najljubsi stavek ki ga rece Oliva je "I happy". Nama je z Andyjem tako vsec da ga sedaj celo midva med seboj uporabljava.
Ful lstno je imet nazaj studente na univerzi. Se posebno ko se vstavijo v pisarni samo zato da me pozdravijo, mi povejo kako srecni so, kako so bile njihove pocitnice.
Ceprav je danes cetrtek se pocutim kot da bi ze bil petek. Se mi je naredil premik v glavi, da zacela bolj zdravo zivet. Edino danes nisem bila uspesna pri izbiri hrane. Se veliko nagrajevala kar pomeni da sem zagotovo custveni jedec.

Finished doll. So far she is still naked as I did not have time to sew clothes yet. It is ok because she needs to be in hiding anyway. She should get a dress, pants and a shirt. I am hoping to make some this weekend. I cannot decide if she needs a mouth or I should leave her without. Your opinion matters?
Master's classes have started and I will be busy over next 16 weeks. Lots of reading, commenting and writing. I am hoping to read 40 pages tonight.
A favorite sentence Olive uses is "I happy". Andy and I like it so much that we have even started using it.
It is great having students back on campus. Specially when they stop by the office just to say hello, tell me how happy they are and how their winter break was.
Even though it is only Thursday it feels like Friday to me tonight. I got to a point where I have decided to start leading a healthy life. Trying to make better choices when eating and exercising. Except today was not a good day and I kept rewarding myself with food. I am an emotional eater.

Enzov dan/Enzo's day

Vceraj je bil dan za Enza. Oziroma dan samo za nas tri. Oddali Olivo v vrtec in pohajali po opravkih, sli na kosilo po Enzovi izbiri in kegljat. Vreme je bilo bozansko, da sta otroka popoldne se nekaj casa brez jaken in plascev se vzunaj igrala.

Danes smo bolj resni. Oz vsaj jaz moram bit, ker so se zacela predavanja. Dva predmeta. Na sreco naj bi bil eden samo osem tednov dolg.

Yesterday was all about Enzo. Or I should say it was the day for the three of us. Took Olive to daycare and we spent it running errands, lunch spot picked up by Enzo and bowling. The weather was gorgeous and kids go to play outside without jackets for a while.

Today we are more serious. At least I need to be as my classes have started. Two of them. Luckily one should be only eight weeks long.

Po praznikih se moje misli vedno preusmerijo v razmisljanje rojstnodnevnih praznovanj. Moj rojstni dan mi je zelo pomemben. Ne za darila ali karkoli ampak od vedno mi je moj rojstni dan pomemben za razvajanje same sebe. Je en dan v letu ko je namenjen samo meni in mojim zeljam. Poleg mojega rojstnega dne sedaj so pomembni se Andyjevi, Enzov in Olivin. Za Olivo sem zacela ze nekaj casa nazaj planirat. Pocasi koncujem puncko. Najbolj se veselim sivat oblek za njo. Torej kar nekaj planiranja v naprej. Andy je letos svoje darilo tudi ze dobil. Nov telefon, ki ga je ravno danes prikljucil. Tadeja in Lucy, ima enakega kot vidve. In mene je mama razveselila z nakupom zapestnic iz vcerajsnje objave. Ceprav je se kar nekaj casa do mojega rojstnega dne si jih bom zavila in pocakala na rojstni dan, da jih bom dala na roko. Rojstnodnevna praznovanja lahko trajajo kar nekaj mesecev v nasi druzini.

After holidays my thoughts turn to birthday celebrations. I have always loved my birthday. I do not care about presents as much as it is a day all about me, and some of my spoiling wishes coming true. But now beside my birthday Andy's, Enzo's and Olive's are also important. I have started thinking of Olive's a while ago. I am slowly finishing a doll. Can hardly wait to make some clothes for her. Andy already got his present this year too. A new phone which he has just turned on today. Tadeja and Lucy, he has the same one as you too. And my mom made me happy with buying me bracelets from yesterday's post. Even though it is still a while until my birthday I will wrap them and put them on my wrists on my birthday. So, birthday celebrations can last a while in our family.

Obsedena z zapestnicami. Mislim, da tile dve bi bili bozanski. Tako veseli, da nikakor ne bi mogla bit slabe volje. In narejene so v Franciji.
Jutri naj bi bil sneg. Si zelim, da bi zaspala in se zbudila marca, ko bo prisla pomlad.
Nasla novo knjigo. Komaj cakam, da jo zvecer zacnem brat. Po temle pisanju grem direkt v posteljo s salco caja. Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight by Alexandra Fuller.
V soli Enzo praznuje 6.5 rojstni dan. Sem mislila, da se bomo praznovanju lahko izognili, ker ima rojstni dan poleti pa imajo v soli resitev za to. Spekla 32 mini kolacev, da jih neseva jutri v solo. Za praznovanje sodelavkinega rojstnega dne spekla tudi marmorni kolac.
Vceraj je imela Oliva oblecene zabe s srckom na riti. Ko sem jo potrepljala po riti in vprasala kaj ima ona tam mi je odgovorila da prdce.
I am obsessed with bracelets. I think these two would be amazing. They look so happy I could never be grumpy. Plus they are made in France.
Tomorrow there should be snow. I am wishing to fall asleep and wake up in March where there would be spring already.
Found a new book. I can hardly wait to start reading. After this post I am going to bed with a cup of tea. Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight by Alexandra Fuller.
Enzo is celebrating his 6.5 year birthday in school. I thought we would not have to do any celebration since his birthday is in the summer, but they found a solution. I baked 32 cupcakes tonight. Plus a marble cake to celebrate coworkers birthday.
Yesterday Olive wore tights with a heart on her bottom. I patted her bottom and asked what does she have there. She replied toots are there.

Pocasi ze razmisljam o Olivinem rojstnem dnevu. O darilih, praznovanju, hrani, sladici, okraskih po hisi. Danes smo pohajali po Targetu in mislim, da sem nasla cevlje, ki bi jo zagotovo razveselili. Si jih je zelela kar takoj obut ampak na sreco mi jo je Enzo pomagal zamotit. Drugo darilo na katerem sem zacela delat je puncka. Sem si vedno zelela eno sesit in upam, da bo koncni rezultat uspesen. Ce bo, potem bo dobila puncko in cel kup cunj za njo. Ce ne, potem bo verjetno poleg cevljev dobila kupljenega se kaj drugega.

I am slowly starting to think of Olive's birthday present. Her presents, celebration, food, dessert, decorations around the house. Today we were running some errands at Target and I have found these shoes. She loved them and wanted to put them on right away. Luckily Enzo helped me distract her. A second gift I am thinking is a doll. But I am making it. I always wanted to sew one and I hope it turns out great. If it turns out as I am hoping then she will get a doll and a ton of clothes for it. If not, then shoes and we will buy something more.

Delo na racunalniku v nasi hisi ni mozno. Ce ne dobim otroka v narocje, je eden na pisalni mizi. Na sreco sem pred leti Andyja nagovorila, da sva kupila najvecjo mozno pisalno mizo. Imamo na njej printer, racunalnik, knjige in druge stvari in obcasnega otroka. Koga brigajo novice in placani racuni, ko imam pred seboj "sreco". Vse te stvari padejo ob stran in niso pomembne.

Trying to get work done on the computer is not possible in our house. If I do not get a child on a lap I get one on the desk. Luckily years ago I convinced Andy we had to buy a huge desk which now can hold a printer, a computer, books, odds and ends and an occasional child. Who cares about the news or paying the bills. Just looking at this face makes everything seem trivial.

ker ne pijem vec kave ob vecerih sem sedaj zasvojena z cajem. trenutno pijem planinski caj. drugace najpogosteje kamilicni in v sluzbi metin.
boli me grlo, koza, trga po kosteh. mislim, da je gripa okoli vogla.
Rada ugotavljam nastavitve na nasem novem racunalniku. Danes uspela nastimat iCloud. Slisis Martin?
mame so najboljse. moja se posebno. vem, da se lahko nanjo vedno zanesem za najboljsi nasvet.
vedno mislila, da sem punca samo za uhane. pa trenutno nosim uhane, verizico, zapestnice. trenutno iscem nove zapestnice.
Because I am no longer drinking coffee in the evenings I am addicted to tea. Currently a Mountain Tea from home. otherwise most popular choice is chamomile at home and mint at work.
I have a sore throat, my skin aches as we as my bones hurt. I think a flu is around the corner.
I love figuring out settings on our new computer. Today I was able to make iCloud work. Hear that, Martin?
Mothers are the best. Mine specially. I know I can always rely on her for the best advice.
I always thought I am only an earring girl. Lately I am wearing earrings, a necklace, bracelets. I am currently on the look out for new bracelets.

imam v planu nov strikalni projekt. jopa za Olivo. se se ne morem odlocit katera bo glavna barva. siva ali zlata.
sem zaljubljena v nov racunalnk in ipad. sedaj samo, da bi mi nekdo pogruntal vse fore in vse nastimal tako kot bi jaz hotla imet brez da bi rabila razlagat.
Oliva se zagotovo joka enkrat ali dvakrat na noc za dve minuti. nimam pojma kaj jo zbudi. kot se zbudi tudi hitro nazaj zaspi.
zelim si, da bi trenutno imela perico. imam kupe in kupe stvari za oprat.
zvecer ne morem vec pit kave. kofeinske ali brezkofeinske. me naredi nemirno in mi da divje sanje.
I am planning on a new knitting project. a cardigan for Olive. I cannot decide which color will be prevalent. grey or gold.
I am in love with the new computer and the iPad. Now I just wish someone would set both of them up for me the way I want them without having to explain.
Olive wakes up once or twice a night for about two minutes. I have no idea why. as she wakes up she also go back to sleep fast.
I wish I would have someone hired to do our laundry. There are piles and piles to be still washed in the laundry room.
I cannot drink coffee in the evenings anymore. Caffeine or decaf makes me restless and gives me crazy dreams.

2011. Ne vem se tocno kako opredelit minulo leto. Kot je bilo veliko prijetnih, odlicnih, presenetljivih stvari v tem letu, je bilo hkrati tudi neprijetnih, stvari za postavit meje, stvari za domislit in se vprasat. 2011 je zagotovo leto, ko se prvic pocutim dejansko stara kot sem in ne vec mlajsa.

2011 je bilo: nova streha na hisi, Oliva shodila, obisk Slovenije, obisk Ohia, Enzo zacetek sole, nov racunalnik, sprejem na magisterij, sluzbena konferenca v Denverju, New York s Tadejo in Oskarjem, Enzo izgubil prve zobe, Enzo zacel z vadbo klavirja.

2012 bo: organizirano, veliko studija in pisanja, zacetek teka, obiski prijateljev, velika vrtna zabava, potovanje v tople kraje.

ZELIMO vam najlepsi zacetek v 2012. Cutim v kosteh, da bo to odlicno leto. Zgornje slike so bile posnete z namenom, da bomo poslali voscilnico. Zmanjkalo nam je casa. Toda to niti ni tako slabo, ker lahko vidite celo zbirko namesto samo eno na voscilnici. Veselo 2012!

As there was lots of lovely, great and surprising things in the year, there was also some uncomfortable, figuring out the limits, thinking some things through and asking ourselves. 2011 is a year that I feel my age and not longer think I am younger.

2011 was: new roof on the house, Olive started walking, visiting Slovenia, visiting Ohio, Enzo starting school, new computer, being accepted into masters degree, work conference in Denver, New York with Tadeja and Oskar, Enzo lost his first teeth, Enzo starting piano lessons.

2012 will be: organized, lots of studying and writing, starting running again, visiting friends, big garden party, traveling to a warm place.

WISHING you all a great start to 2012. I feel it in my bones it is going to be a great one. Above pictures were taken in attempt to mail out a Christmas Card. We ran out of time. But this is even better as you get to see more of us than just with one selected picture. Happy 2012!

V zivljenju imela kar nekaj odlicnih praznovanj novega leta. Nekaj divjih noci in v razlicnih okoliscinah in okoljih in z razlicnimi ljudmi. Toda vceraj zvecer je bilo zares najboljse praznovanje kdajkoli. Z stirimi zelo ljubimi ljudmi in smo se imeli bozansko. Dobro jedli, plesali, se smejali in zaspali pred 22h.

In my life I attended some fun New Years parties. Some wild nights in different circumstances and environments with different people. But last night it was the best celebration hands down. With four dearest people and we had the best time together. We ate good, danced, laughed and were asleep before 10 pm.

Andyjeva sestra je prisla za par dni na obisk z druzino. Cas skupaj je bil neznansko prijeten. Bratranci in sestricne so se skupaj igrali, spali. Jedli smo odlicno hrano. Ker smo bili koncno vsi skupaj za praznike smo zopet imeli Zahvalno/Bozicno vecerjo. Pekel se je puran in vse priloge zraven. Mi je bilo zal, da nimam vecjega zelodca, ker bi si kroznik z veseljem v drugo sla napolnit. Zadnji dnevi v letu se iztekajo in premlevam 2011 in plane za 2012.

Andy's sister came to visit with the family for a couple of days. The time together was lovely. Cousins were playing and sleeping together. We ate an amazing food. Because we were finaly together we made ourselves a Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner. We baked a turkey and all side dished with it. I was sorry for not having a bigger stomach because I would love to get seconds. Last days of the year are running out. I am thinking of 2011 and what 2012 will bring.

V sluzbi dobili iPad za lazje in boljse delo. Ker mi zascite za iPad niso prevec vsec, sem si kar sama sesila nekaj kar z veseljem nosim naokoli. Blago je bilo kupljeno v New Yorku in imam prelepe spomine. Hkrati ima tudi Oliva narejeno krilo iz njega. Notranji del je sesit iz stare pizame, ki bila od sestre in nato jo tudi jaz nekaj casa nosila. iPad obozujem. Danes sem si nasla tudi program za organiziranje. Imam ze cisto zapolnjenega do konca tedna. Mislim, da mi bo v veliko pomoc v januarju, ko se sola zopet zacne.

At work we got an iPad for easier and better productivity. Because I do not like any covers beside Smart Cover I made myself one which I love carrying around. The fabric was bought in New York which only brings back lovely memories. At the same time Olive has a skirt made out of it. The inside is sew out of on old pair of pjs that belonged to my sister and I even wore them for a while. I love iPad. Today I even found an application for to-do lists. I filled it with stuff for this week already. I think it will be even more helpful in January when we will start school again.

Dokoncala. Po vec kot enem letu sem tuniko dokoncala. Na zalost je sedaj premajhna za Olivo toda na veliko sreco ima mlajso sestricno. Sem se hecala s sestro, da imam v planu jopo za Olivo, ki jo bo po vsej verjetnosti podedvala Rapa. Ne verjamem , da bom dovolj hitra in jo dokoncala do pomladi ko jo bo Oliva lahko nosila. Z strikanjem mi niti ni namen nekaj hitro naredit. S strikanjem pride sprostitev, izziv sami sebi, posedanje in poslusanje glasbe, mir in stetje zank. Predvsem sem vesela ker vztrajala in dokoncala namesto da bi izdelek pustila na pol narejen v vreci.

Finished. After more than a year the vest is finished. Unfortunately it no longer fits Olive. Luckily she has a younger cousin who will inherit it. I was joking with my sister when I told her that my next project will most likely be made for her too. Even though I will start making it with the thought of Olive. I do not think I will be fast enough to finish it to this Spring as I am slow at making. But the purpose in knitting is not even to make something fast. Knitting brings relaxation, to challenge yourself, sitting and listening to music, quiet and counting of the knits or purls. I am most happy I stuck out and finished it. I would hate to see it laying unfinished in a bag.

Letos v pred praznicnih dneh uzivam. Namerno sem upocasnila zivljenje. Odjavila se iz Facebooka in Twitterja in zacuda imam ob vecerih ogromno casa. In sem cas zamenjala za posedanje pred tv. Z dnevno sobo osvetljeno samo od jelke je zelo prijetno. Danes si vrtim film Country Strong. Pred leti je bil vedno The Family Stone. Cakam na jutrisnji zadnji dan v sluzbi in nato bomo vsi skupaj vec dni doma. Praznovanje se zacenja z vsemi stirimi prestetimi na 114. This year I am enjoying days before the holiday. I purposely slowed down life. I deactivate Facebook and Twitter and I found a lot of time in the evenings. I traded new found time for sitting in front of the TV. Living room gets to be cozy lit up by the Christmas lights. Tonight I am watching Country Strong. Years before it was always The Family Stone. I am waiting for tomorrow's last day of work. Then we will all be home for a few days. The celebration is starting with all four of us accounted at 114.

Argh, mislim, da danes zvecer zares koncala z bozicnim nakupovanjem. Skoraj dve uri prezivela po trgovinah. Se zelo pocasi premikala naokoli in je bilo prijetno. Se zelo drzala plana in nic zasla na police ki niso imele stvari za mene. Na koncu me je vseeno drzalo, da bi kupila knjigo od Diane Keaton. Pa mislim, da bom pocakala, da si jo bom izposodila v knjiznici. Sedaj samo se peka piskotov in zavijanje daril. Oh, in sledenje zadnjim paketom ki potujejo nekje po Ameriki.

Argh, I think I have finished christmas shopping tonight. I spent almost two hours in different shops. I was moving very slowly around and it was nice. I stuck to the plan and didn't veered off the plan. At the end I was only tempted to buy Diane Keaton's book. But I think I will wait until I can borrow it at the library. Now I only have to bake some cookies and wrap presents. Oh, and track the last presents that are traveling around the States somewhere.

Popravljen Playstation. "Okvara" je bila nalepka v masini. Sem predlagala Andyju, da bi bil eden izmed otrok na crni listi pri Bozicku. Se ni strinjal, ker ga ima ovitega okoli prsta.
Vecerja s prijateljem Johnom. Chicken Pot Pie in Pumpkin Cheesecake.
Lunch with husband.
Chatting with mom and emailing with sister.
Fixed Playstation. It was not working due to someone pushing a sticker inside it. I recommended to add a certain child on Santa's Naughty List. He did not agree as she has him wrapped around her little finger.

Enajst dni do Bozica. Vsi komaj cakamo in se veselimo jutra, ko se bo razkrilo kako pridni smo bili cez leto. Tudi sama postajam pocasi nestrpna in komaj cakam da se zjutraj vsi zbudimo in otroka odhitita pogledat kaj je pod jelko. Ah, brez potrebe to olepsujem. Tudi sama komaj cakam, da vidim stvari pod jelko. Zato sem danes sprintala in narezala trakove. Zvecer sva z Enzom naredila papirnato verigo, da bomo tudi vizualno lazje odstevali. Zadnja fotka mi je nad vse smesna. Vsakic, ki vidim Enza in Olivo v ozadju se zacnem hahljat.

Eleven days until Christmas. We are all hardly waiting and looking forward to the morning when it will become known how good we were over the year. I am becoming impatient and can hardly wait to see kids run to the Christmas tree. Ah, I have no idea why I am pretending. I can hardly wait to see what will be under the tree. This is why I printed and cut numbered paper strips today. Tonight Enzo and I made a paper chain. To make it easier to see how much longer we have to wait. The last pictures makes me laugh. Every time I see Enzo and Olive in the background I start giggling.

novi kozarci/new cups

Zadnji vikend sta si izbrala nove kozarce. Slabost nakupovanja v trgovini kot Aldi/Hoffer je, da imajo ob razlicnih casih veliko stvari za otroke. Se vsakic med nakupovanjem specerije prerekamo, da igrace ne rabimo za v kuhinjo. Samo hrano. Pa sva se nazadnje z Andyjem vdala in je vsak dobil nov kozarcek. Danes pri vecerji je Oliva poleg soka morala imet tudi cokoladno mleko. Zato ima dva kozarca. Rumen dinozaver je njen in rdec Enzo. Ceprav je kar nekaj let razlike med njima velikokrat rabimo kozarce in igrace kupovat v dvoje. Manj prerekanj.

Last weekend they picked new cups. The bad side of shopping at Aldi's is that at different times they have toys in there. Almost every time we shop there we have a talk how toys do not belong in the kitchen. We are only buying food. Last time Andy and I gave up and they both picked their own cup. Tonight at dinner Olive had to have two cups. In the yellow dinosaur one she has chocolate milk. We also have a red dinosaur cup for Enzo. Even though there are a few years between Enzo and her we still need to buy things in twos. A lot less arguing.

Prvi sneg. Totalno presenecenje. Nisem bila pripravljena na noro cesto. Izgleda, da se obdobje moje nevroze glede voznje v snegu zacenja. Otroka presrecna nad snegom. Oliva ni tocno vedla kako hodit in je bila nesrecna ko so se skornji umazali.

First snow. Total surprise. I was not ready for crazy roads. It looks like the season for my anxiety of driving in the snow has started. Kids were overjoyed when they saw snow. Olive did not know exactly how to walk and was unhappy when her boots got dirty.

Prvi solski koncert. Nas mali pevec. Se je prelepo obnasal in bil neznansko vesel, ko nas je nasel v gruci tarsev. In gruca je bila ogromna. Se veselim naslednjega leta. Med njegovim nastopom se Oliva ni najlepse obnasala. Je bila nesrecna, ker je mogla cakat na brata, ker ni mogla it stat poleg njega in se je na ves glas drla:"Ne mami".

First school concert. Our little singer. He behaved good and was overjoyed to find us in a big group of parents. And the group was huge. I am looking forward to the next year. During his performance Olive did not behave the best. She was unhappy, because she had to wait for his brother, because she could not go stand next to him. As I was holding her she was yelling real loud for everyone to hear:" No mami".

Miklavz pride jutri zvecer.
Enzo ima prvi bozicni koncert.
Poskus frizure iz Avatarja. Puscica na glavi.
Oliva me zna komandirat in mi steje, ko ne gre po njeno. Love and Logic vzgoja deluje tudi za starse. Po drugi strani mi je Enzo danes potem ko mu ni bilo vsec kako sem ga jaz komandirala povedal, da jaz nisem niti svoj sef. Da je Bog moj sef. Da je on sef od vseh. Smo se pogovarjali, da moramo bit vsi njegovi dobri usluzbenci.
Bozicna darila za tujino kupljena. Sedaj samo se pakiranje in posta.
Danes nakupovali solske potrebscine za Enza. Sebi kupila silcek na baterije. Ne vem kako sem zivela brez njega do sedaj. Najboljse darilo.

Olive knows how to boss me around. She counts for me when I am too slow. I guess Love and Logic works on parents too. On the other hand Enzo told me after being upset with me that I am not even a boss of myself. God is the boss of me. He is the boss of everyone. I told him we all need to work on being the best employees to him.
Christmas gifts for overseas bought. Just to pack and mail them.
Today bought Enzo more school supplies. Bought myself a battery operated pencil sharpner. I have no idea how I lived without it all these years.

For a change we had a nice Sunday. A good combination of done stuff, lessened worries,stayed home all day, had some visits, cooking, baking,... I am looking forward to a coming week. I am hoping it will bring some conclusion and some more things will be taken care off.

On Sunday morning we got out of the house early. Guys got an idea to go fly a kite as it was very windy. It was my favorite start to the day. In the field with my favorite people and coffee.

Z novo kapo. Darilo tete Tadeje. Z M&M bonboni pred vecerjo. Takoj po prihodu domov je najtezje cakat na vecerjo. Ker se predolgo kuha. Zato malo cokolade nikoli ne skodi, da se punca zamoti. In da se umaze in potem se rabi dolgo casa umivat v lijaku.

With a new hat. A gift from aunt Tadeja. And M&M's before dinner. Because it is the hardest waiting for dinner to be cooked after you get home from daycare. A little bit of chocolate cannot hurt to be distracted. And to get dirty and need a lot of time to wash yourself in the sink.

RD praznovanja/BDay celebrations

Enzo je bil zelo popularen cez vikend. Imel dve praznovanji rojstnih dni. Mislim, da je on celo bolj uzival kot slavljenki. Oliva je obe slavlji prespala doma. Na sreco je bil Andy doma in jo cuval. Prvega slavja nisem nic fotografirala ker nisem poznala nobenih otrok ali starsev. Je bilo prvo praznovanje v zvezi z novo solo na katero je Enzo lahko sel. Vsa prejsnja smo imeli ze v naprej nacrte in na zalost je zamudil nekatera praznovanja.

Enzo was very popular over the weekend. He had two birthday celebrations to attend. I think he ended up having even a better time than birthday girls. Olive slept through both celebrations. Luckily Andy was off work and watched her at home.

I didn't take any pictures at first celebration as I did not know any children or parents. It was a first birthday party of his schoolmate that he was able to go to. Previously we always had plans and could not take him.

New York/New York

LOVE the city. Would love to go back as often as possible on vacation. I do not think I would want to live there. Maybe.
Felt very safe. Even more than in Denver at the beginning of the month.
As means of transportation we have used feet, subway, taxi, bus and bikes. We would even be on a boat if the tour would not get cancelled due to the snow.
I was able to spend a little bit of money at my favorite fabric shop Purl.
We saw Penn of Penn & Teller with his family and Andie MacDowell with her daughter.
We ate at an awesome restaurant Spotted Pig. I had the best fries I ever ate in my life. They fry them with a rosemary. Second night was at a French place I do not know the name off. The food again was amazing.
Drove bikes in Central Park.
Went to see a show at UCB Theater. It was an improvisation play.
The last night together my sister and I went for a drink before bed. Ended up being hit on by a guy.
Hanging out with the nephew is fun. It makes me feel old for sure. We have decided his next band should name itself Broken Umbrellas.
Bought New York memorabilia. Magnets. My sister gifted me a New York mug. We both have the same one. I am saving it for first use on the weekend.
The city is expensive. In a day I spent $100 on just surviving there. Food and transportation.
I love it that I got to be in New York with my sister. Love exploring things with her. She challenges me on so many levels. I miss her. I wish I could teleport myself to her for the next couple of days.

Prve govorilne ure. Fant je odlicnjak. Ima rad pisanje, branje, matematiko toda najrajsi naravo, zivali in znanost.

Oliva je prvic zatozila brata. Je prisla jokajoca v kuhinjo. Sem ji rekla naj mi pokaze kaj se je zgodilo. Me je peljala v dnevno sobo, kjer je pokazala na Enza in rekla: "Enzo porinil".

First parent-teacher conference. A boy is one of the top students. He loves writing, reading and math. But science is his favorite.

Olive told on her brother for the first time. Came crying into the kitchen. I aske her to show me what happened. She took me to the living room where she pointed at Enzo and said: "Enzo push".

Vecerja s sosedami. Kar tako. Da se boljse spoznamo. Fotografije hise predno pridejo gostje. Priprave. Igranje z dojenckom. Kraja serviete za pokrivanje dojencka. Sama utrujena. Prebolevam sinusno vnetje. Na veliko sreco Oliva popoldne spala stiri ure in sama dve od teh.

Dinner with neighbour women. Just because. To get to know each other better. Pictures of the house before guests arrive. Preparations. Playing with a baby. Stealing a dish towel to use it as a blanket for baby. I am tired. Getting over a sinus infection. Luckily Olive took a four hour nap while I slept for two of those.

drugi zob/second tooth

Bil pogumen in izgubil drugi zob. Daddy ga je podkupil z obljubo $1 in nato mu bo verjetno miska se kaj prinesla. V dveh noceh bo zasluzil $3. Ni slabo. Poleg praznovanja njegovega poguma smo praznovali tudi z Olivo. Danes je prvic uporabila kahljo. Na vaso in naso sreco fotografskega momenta njenega dogodka nimamo.

He was brave and lost the second tooth. Daddy bribed him with a promise of a $1 and a Tooth Fairy is going to bring him another $1 tonight. Not bad making $3 in two nights. Beside celebrating his bravery we also celebrated Olive's accomplishment. She used a potty for the first time tonight. Luckily for you and us, we do not have photographic documentation of her achievement.

Izgubili prvi zob. Sploh ne ve kako in kdaj. Po mojem ga je pojedel skupaj z vecerjo. Kosom pizze. Ali mogoce celo ze v soli. Je bil cisto zacuden in presenecen kako ni nic bolelo, ker se je bal, da bo zelo. Miski dolgujemo pismo v katerem moramo razlozit zakaj zoba nimamo. Da mu bo vseeno pustila denar.

Lost the first tooth. He has no idea how and when. I am guessing it went down with his dinner. A slice of pizza. Or maybe even at school. He was very surprised that it did not hurt at all because he imagined it would hurt a lot. We owe a Tooth Fairy a letter with explanation why we do not have a tooth for her. So she might leave him some money anyway.

Vadba voznje s skirojem. Oba uporabljala noge na drugacen nacin. Dobra akcija pred popoldanskim pocitkom. Kot ponavadi je nedelja prehitro minila in ze razmisljam kaj nas vse caka cez teden. Konec leta se prehitro bliza in s tem tedni kar bezijo. Na zalost ni moznosti, da bi cas lahko upocasnili. Pomembno samo kako ravnamo s casom, ki nam je dan. Danes mi je bil cas zagotovo naklonjen saj sem si privoscila popoldanski pocitek.

Practicing riding a scooter. They were both using their legs in a different way. A good exercise before an afternoon nap. As usual Sunday passed way too quickly and I am already thinking of things for during the week. The end of the year is coming and weeks are just wheezing by. There is no way to be able to slow down the time. It is only important what we do with the time that is given to us. Today time was on my side as I was able to get a good afternoon nap.

V spredaj so Olivini lasje izredno dolgi. Ponavadi jih ima spete v cop ali s spango. Danes zvecer sem jo nahecala, da je imela obroc nekaj casa v laseh. Na zacetku se mi ni pustila in je vrgla obroc cez celo sobo. Sem se narejeno jokala in mi je takoj pustila, da sem ji dala obroc v glavo. In v tostem momentu sem skoraj obzalovala, ker je z njim v laseh videti mnogo starejsa, vecja, odrasla. Na sreco ni dolgo trajalo in je bila ze brez njega.

Olive's hair is long in the front. Usually I put them in a pony tail or pin them with a hair clip. Tonight I tricked her into wearing a head band. At first she didn't let me and she threw it across the room. I started fake crying and to calm me down she agreed on wearing it. Instantly I regretted it as she looks older, bigger and more grown with it. Luckily it didn't last long and she was without it.

Nedelj ne maram. Zagotovo dan v tednu, ki je najnizje na lestvici. Ob tem, ko dneva ne maram velikokrat hkrati pozabim ali naj gledam/iscem drevo ali gozd. Se pritozujem nad eno stvarjo in pozabim obcudovat cel dan.

Danes kuhali govejo juho, da jo odnesli Andyjevim starsem, ki se se vedno bojujeta s prehladom. Upam, da ju bo juha pozdravila.

I don't like Sundays. It is a day in the week that I like the least. As I do not like the day I often forget to look for the tree or forrest. Cannot differentiate between the two. I start complaining over one thing when in general the whole day turns out great.

Cooked a beef soup and took it to Andy's parents as they are still fighting off the cold. I am hoping the soup will kick start their immune system.

Bila v Denver, Colorado od sobote do srede na konferenci za sluzbo. Totalno navdusena nad vsemi predstavitvami. Celo tako zelo, da razmisljam, da bi vpisala magisterij in sama nadaljevala svojo izobrazbo.

Denver se je Andyju in meni priljubil zaradi hrane. Zahvala gre prijateljici Sari in njenemu mozu, ki sta naju predstavila ulici kjer so najboljse restavracije. Vine St. Pub, WaterCourse Food, Pasquini's, Stuben's. Vsak dan bi lahko tam jedla.

Otroka se imela doma super pod nadzorom starih starsev. Ko se vrnila domov se mi je zdelo, da sta oba zrastla, se spremenila. Sem jih ves cas neznansko pogresala in komaj cakala, da sem zopet pod njuno komando.

We were in Denver, Colorado from Saturday to Wednesday for a work conference. I loved all presentations. Even so much that I am thinking of starting a masters degree. To expand my own knowledge.

Andy and I fell in love with Denver because of food. Thank you to our friend Sara and her husband. They introduced us to a street with the best food. Vine St. Pub, WaterCourse Food, Pasquini's, Stuben's. I could eat there every day.

Children stayed home and got spoiled by grandparents. When I returned home I thought they both grew, changed. I missed them a lot the whole time and could hardly wait to be under their directions.

Pred spanjem mi je Enzo rekel, da me ima rad dokler ne umrem. Nato se je zacel jokat, ko je spoznal, da me ne bo vec ko umrem. Se je jokal mocneje in vec, ker ni vedel koga bo imel rad ko me ne bo vec. Sem ga pomirila, ko mu povedala, da se zelo dolgo casa ne bom umrla. Da mora on it preje se na univerzo, si najdt sluzbo, si najdt punco, se porocit, imet svoje otroke. In to je zelooo dolgo casa.
Po zgornjem pogovoru je zajel globoko sapo in se zacel zopet jokat. Ne zeli it na univerzo, ker ne zeli zivet sam in stran od nas. Sem mu rekla, da gre lahko na univerzo in pride vsak vecer domov. Da vidi daddyja in mene in zjutraj gre zopet nazaj na univerzo.
Ko nas Oliva klice Enzo Drekec, Daddy Drekec, Mami Drekec in ve da se bomo smejali. Nasa komedijantka.
Vsako jutro, ko Oliva in jaz oddava Enza pred solo, ji odprem okno. Da mu lahko pomaha in zavpije adijo. Danes ko sva se odpeljale mi je rekla Enzo sola. Enzo sedi. Ne morem verjet kako nas vse opazuje in ve kaj delamo. In njen besedni zaklad se veca. Govori v stavkih.
At bed time Enzo telling me he loves until I die. Then starting crying because he realized I would be gone. Crying harder and more on who is he going to love when I am gone. I calmed him with telling him I am not going anywhere for a very long time. We still need him to go to college, find a job, find his partner, marry, have babies of his own. That is a looong time.
Enzo taking a big breath after above conversation and starting crying again. He does not want to go to college because he does not want to live on his own. I told him he can go to college and come home every night and go back to school the next morning again. He can come home to see daddy and me every night.
Olive saying Enzo Poopy, Daddy Poopy, Mami Poopy and knows we are going to laugh. She is our comidiene.
Every morning when Olive and I drop Enzo at school I open her window. She can wave at Enzo and yell Bye. This morning as I pulled away she told me Enzo school. Enzo sit. I am blown away by her insightfulness, observation and vocabulary. She is talking in sentences.

Guzva. Hitro premikanje od doma, v solo, v vrtec in sluzbo. In nato na poti domov ponovim v obratnem vrstnem redu. Kuhanje vecerje, pospravljanje opranega perila, vadba klavirja in kopanje otrok. In vmes razmisljam kako je bilo moje zivljenje pred otroci. Kaj sem pocela z vsem prostim casom?

Busy. Quick movements from home to school, daycare and work. On the way home I repeat everything in reverse order. Cooking dinner, putting away clean laundry, practicing the piano, giving children a bath. In between I am thinking what did I do before children? What did I do with all the time?

Andy in otroka prisla v Columbijo, da je Oliva sla na neko studijo na oddelek za psihologijo. Kot po navadi smo sli po studiji ven na vecerjo. Najprej se odpeljali v garazo po moj avto in nato do restavracije. Pri restavraciji je Andy zelel Olivi obut superge in nikakor ni nasel enega cevlja. Nato se je spomnil, ko sli po moj avto, da sem odprla njena vrata in ji dala igraco iz mojega avta. Sva predvidevala, da je superga zagotovo v garazi. Sem se odpeljala nazaj in je bila superga tocno pri mojem parkirnem prostoru. Se mi je takoj zacelo smejat, ker je otroski cevelj sredi parkirne garaze izgledal smesno. Na sreco ga ni nihce premaknil. Sem ga pobrala in sla nazaj v restavracijo, kjer je Andy nam ze narocil pijaco.

Andy and kids came to Columbia. Olive was attending one of her studies as part of the Psychology department. As usual we made plans to have dinner at the local place. From the study place we drove to garage to get my car. When we got to the restaurant Andy tried putting shoes on Olive. Could not find one shoe no matter where he looked. He got the idea it must likely fell out when I opened Olive's door to give her a toy from my car. I drove back to the garage where the shoe was waiting at my parking spot. Started laughing because it was just funny to see a baby shoe in the middle of the garage. Luckily no one moved it. I picked it up and drove back to the restaurant where Andy was already waiting with drinks.

Po Enzovih navodilih smo rabili okrasit hiso za jesen. Je zelel kupit stiri buce in na koncu smo pristali na treh. Ena je oblikovana kot jagoda. Zraven smo kupili tudi roze za Andyjevo mamo. Je imela prejsnji teden rojstni dan in na zalost nismo praznovali skupaj, ker sta starsa v Ohio. Sedaj bo imela presenecenje na vhodu, ko bo prisla domov. Ko sva Enzu razlozila plan za dopoldne, je bil zelo nesrecen, da bo moral hodit do hise granny in grampsa. Je bilo zelo nepravicno, da Oliva se je lahko peljala v vozicku. Ampak na koncu z nekaj stokanja, obljubo izklopljene tv, ce ne bo hodil in nekaj hecanja, je naredilo cudeze. Sedaj smo vsi doma in pocivamo medtem ko nasa punca z najvec energije v hisi tudi pociva.

Per Enzo's instructions we had to decorate the house for fall. He wanted to buy four pumpkins and we ended up with three. One of them is shaped like strawberry. We have also bought some mums for Andy's mom. It was her birthday last week and we did not get to celebrate together. Andy's parents are currently in Ohio. It will be fun to have a surprise waiting when they return. When Andy and I explained the plans for the morning to Enzo he was not happy one bit. He didn't want to walk the whole way to granny and gramps' house. It was unfair that Olive got to get a ride in a stroller. In the end with some complaining, threatening to turn off TV for the whole day and coming up with some games while walking, we made it. Now we are home resting while the girl with the most energy in the house is taking a nap.

Po vecerji. Premetavanje z daddyjem v zadnji sobi. Izraba zadnje mozne energije in da cas do spanja hitreje mine. V nekem momentu se je Oliva odmaknila in zopet poskusala cevlje. Mislim, da bomo rabili zacet varcevat za kolekcijo njenjih cevjev. Zjutraj, ko se oblacimo ima ze mnenje katere cevlje bo imela obute.

Ta teden bila presenecena nad Enzovim opazovanje. Me je prosil, da mu odgovorim po resnici na vprasanje. Me je vprasal, ce Bozicek zares obstaja. Sem mu odgovorila po resnici in povedala, da zares obstaja. Da zares prinese darila. Ko sem ga vprasala, ce mu je v soli kdo rekel kaj okoli Bozicka, je rekel, da se je njemu zdelo, da verjetno daddy in jaz kupiva darila. Jaz se nisem pripravljena, da bi nehal verjet. Rabimo se par let carobnosti.

After dinner. Wrestling with Daddy in the back room. Trying to waste more of their energy and make it closer to the bed time. At one moment I caught Olive trying on shoes again. We might start saving up for a collection of shoes she is going to acquare some day. She already has a strong opinion on what shoes she wants to wear in the mornings.

This week I was surprised over Enzo's observations. He asked me to answer his questions truthfully. He asked if Santa exists for real. I was honest and told him he does. He brings presents for real. When I asked him if he heard something in school about it. He said he thought that daddy and I buy presents. I am not ready for him to stop believing. We need a couple more years of magic.

Duh svezega lesa, zaganega lesa, prah. Me je spomnilo na strica Toneta, maminega brata, ki je tudi imel vcasih delavnico.

Dad of Olive the First has a carpentry business. He needs pictures of the shop for the website he is getting built. He asked me if I would be willing to come take some. Nora je na cevlje. Bolj kot to, je bilo danes popoldne noro. Trenutno so Andyjevi starsi v Ohio, kjer skrbijo za svojo hiso. Ko so doma in Andy dela, z veseljem pobirajo Enza popoldne iz sole. Trenutno Enzo gre vsak dan po soli v popoldansko varstvo. Na poti domov me klice Andy, ce lahko poberem oba otroka, ker on dela pozno. Oba otroka morata bit dvignjena do 17:30. Toda Sola in vrtec sta na razlicnih koncih mesta. Zacnem dirkat domov in seveda so povsod zastoji. Po premisleku se odlocim, da grem najprej po Enza. Nato klicem v vrtec, da bom pozna, ker so vedno mnogo bolj razumljivi. Danes po vecerji sem spekla nekaj piskotov, da jim jih jutri nesem v zahvalo.

She is crazy about shoes. More than that we had a crazy afternoon. Andy's parents are currently in Ohio taking care of their house. When they are home and Andy is working, they gladly pick up Enzo at school in the afternoon. This week he has to go to After Care. On the way home Andy calls me and asks me if I can go pick up both kids because he is working late. Both kids need to be picked up by 5:30 pm and school and daycare are in different parts of town. I start racing home and of course there are traffic jams everywhere. I decide to go pick up Enzo first. I call the daycare and tell them I will be a bit late as I know they will be understanding. Tonight after dinner I baked some cookies to say thank you for always being there for us.

Se nama je pohvalil, da se mu spodnja dva zoba majeta. Bili vsi neznansko navduseni dokler danes zjutraj nisem videla, da ima ze nove na poti. Klicala zobozdravnika in baje je normalno. Da naj pustimo, da bodo prvi zobi sami ven padli. Zaukazala Enzu, da naj maje zobe. V soli, doma med gledanjem tv. Da jih cimprej izgubimo in stalni najdejo mesto. Skoraj mi je malo tudi zal, da ne bo skrbast. Da ne bo prilike za skrbaste fotografije.

He showed us that his bottom two teeth are moving. We were all excited until I saw this morning he has permanent teeth coming in already. Called the dentist and they said it is normal. To leave the baby teeth fall out on its own. I still told Enzo to start moving his teeth with his tounge. While in school, while he is watching tv at home. I hope they fall out fast and the permanent ones find the right spot to settle. I have to say I feel a bit sorry he won't be toothless. I was looking forward to some photo opportunities.

Kupila si nove copate in balerinke.

Sorted and put away Olive's clothes. Organized her dresser. Moved the bird feeder. Shopping at Aldi. Saved a lot on groceries. This morning ran way to Target by myself. Bought myself new slippers and flats.

V petek zvecer druzenje z nekaj prijatelji. Kar tako. Ker se nama je z Andyjem zazelelo druzbe. Ker je konec poletja. Stregli meso na zaru, mehisko solato, domac barjanski kruh, cokoladne pite. Vedno zelo vesela, ko obe Olivi skupaj. Ceprav je nasa Oliva v vrtcu se mora se naucit delit igrace. Bilo kar nekaj prepira glede dojenckov.

Friday night we hung out with a few friends. Because we wanted to. Because Andy and I wanted some company. Because it is the end of summer. We served grilled meat, black bean salsa, homemade bread, chocolate pies. I am always happy when both Olives get to hang out together. Even though our Olive goes to daycare she still needs to learn how to share toys. There was a couple fights over babies.

Ni se dobro pocutila in je zjutraj bruhala se predno sem jaz v sluzbi uspela pridt od parkirne garaze do pisarne. Sem vseeno sla pes preko kampusa do sefice in zaprosila za prosti dan, da sva se punce nato doma razvajale. Mislim, da ji samo zajtrk ni odgovarjal, ker je bila odlicnega razpolozenja cez dan. Jutri se vsi vrnemo na polozaje sluzenja dokler se vikend ne zacne.

Ko bile doma spekle vecjo kolicino piskotov, ker jih mora Enzo nest v solo za praznovanje starih starsev.

She didn't feel well and already threw up even before I was able to park the car and walk to the office. I still walked across campus and requested a day off with my boss. In order for girls to be able to stay home and chill out. I think it was only breakfast not agreeing with her as otherwise she was in excellent mood all day. Tomorrow we are all returning to our positions of serving until the weekend starts.

While we were home we made a ton of cookies. Enzo needs to take them to school for celebration of grandparents.

Zjutraj si je sama izbrala stvari za oblect. Je vztrajala na kapi, ki je novo darilo mojega bratranca. Me zelo veseli da je navdusena nad kapo kar pomeni da jo bo pozimi rada nosila.

Ostalo kripticno porocilo. Andy bolan. Vrocina, kasljanje. Jaz dopoldne poslikala druzino moje naj prijateljice Tammy. Ko dobim njeno dovoljenje bom objavila slike. Naredila domaco pizzo za vecerjo. Z testom vred. Nakupila specerijo v novi trgovini Aldi. Mislim, da bom veckrat sla tja, ker imajo skoraj vse enako stvari kot v nasi trgovini. In ceneje. Se par minut in bo Olivin odhod v posteljo. In nato se Enzo in se tudi jaz parkiram na kavc. Upam, da se tudi mene kaj ne loteva.

In the morning she chose her own clothes. She insisted on wearing a hat which was a gift from my cousin. I am happy that she likes wearing which means in the winter she won't be fighting it off. The rest of writing is going to be very cryptic. Andy sick. A fever and a cough. I took pictures of my best friend Tammy's family in the morning. When she gives me permission I will post some pictures here. Made homemade pizza. Even dough from scratch. Bought groceries at Aldi's. I think I will go back for sure as they have everything we usually buy. And cheaper. A few minutes and it is going to be Olive's bed time. Then Enzo and I will get a chance to park myself on the couch. I hope I didn't catch any of the flu bug because I don't feel the best.

Ena izmed mojih studentk dela obcasno za NASO. Sem jo za hec prosila, ce ima kaksne promocijske artikle, da bi bil Enzo neznansko navdusen. Mi je danes prinesla celo vrecko artiklov. Nasino flaso za vodo, obesek za kljuce, ki si ga je Enzo dal na solski ruzak, siljcek v obliki rakete, plasticne racke za kopanje, ki so oblecene kot vesoljci, zastavico in astronavtski sladoled. Smo ga poskusili po vecerji in bili vsi prijetno preseneceni kako okusen je. Sladoled mora bit suh oz izsusen vsake vode.

One of my students from time to time works at NASA. I asked her if they have any promotional material she could bring for Enzo. Today she brought me a bag of presents. A water bottle with NASA sign on it, key chain that Enzo already attached to his school backpack, pencil sharpener in the shape of a rocket, astronaut rubber duckies for Olive to play in the water, a flag and astronaut ice cream. We tried it after dinner and were all pleasantly surprised how delicious it is. Ice cream is freeze-dryed. It is very dry as there cannot be any water in it.

Navadili smo se na nov ritem zivljenja z solarjem. Dopust se je zakljucil. Oliva odrasca. In zaradi tega in verjetno se drugih stvari sem zacela cez vikende delat na raznih manjsih projektih. Ugotovila, da lahko pocasi veliko dosezem ce se samo lotim posameznik projektov razbitih na manjse dele. Pocasi si bom za vikende zadala manjse stvari, ki bi jih rada imela koncane in narejene. Namesto, da si vedno samo delam spisek stvari in imam milijon zelja. Se bodo stvari zares zacele premikat. Imam nekaj pravil katerih se bom drzala.

projekt je lahko velik kolikor si sama zelim. cilj je, da je koncan v dveh dneh.
projekti so lahko od stvari okoli hise do sivanja do urejanja naslovov, do urejanja omar. Po malem bi rada uredila zivljenje, da se ne bi vec zaletavala v vse stvari ki me motijo.
cez vikend lahko delam samo na enem projektu naenkrat. zato da ga zacnem in koncam.
z projekti se moram zavedat, da bom verjetno imela zraven male pomocnike. torej projekt mora bit otrokom prijazen.

Zadnji vikend sem si zadala prebarvat polico nad kaminom. Preje je bila svetlo modre barve in sedaj imamo belo. Zelo zadovoljna s koncnim ciljem. Naslednji vikend si bom vzela odmor od pleskanja. Uredila si bom knjigo z naslovi vseh ljudi. Vedno iscem vse naslove po listicih in je cas, da imam vse to na enem mestu v naslovniku. Se posebno ker prihaja sezona posiljanja voscilnic.

We got used to a new rhythm of life with a boy in school. Vacation is over. Olive is growing up. Because of that and probably other things I started working on small projects over weekends. I found out that taking little steps I can achieve a lot. I am planning on getting little things done over weekends. Things I would like to see finished and completed. Instead of always making to-do lists and having million wishes. There are a few rules I came up for myself.

projects can be as big as I want them to be, but they need to be finished in two days.
projects can vary in ranges. they can be house projects, sewing, getting address book organized, organizing closets. I would like to organize our life to not constantly fight with things I do not like.
at any time I can only work on one project at the time. I have to start and finish it.
I have to be aware I will always have little helpers around. projects need to be children friendly.

Last weekend I painted a mantel. It used to be a light blue color and now it is white. I am very pleased with the end result. Next weekend I am taking a break from painting. I will work on getting my address book organized. Even though I have the address book all my addresses are written on all odd pieces of paper. It is time to be buckle down and organize it. Specially since the season for writing cards is coming.

piknik s sosedi/neighbourhood block party

Vsakoletni piknik s sosedi. Se ga vsi veselimo, ko se zberemo na kupu in preklepetamo kaj se je s kom kaj zgodilo cez leto, kje je kdo potoval. Vidimo kako so se otroci spremenili in zrastli. Letos smo se zmenili, da bomo spomladi imeli skupno garazno razprodajo. Bomo tako lahko privabili vec zanimanja na ulico in se vsi znebili nepotrebnih stvari.

In mogoce se to jesen si bomo sosede privoscile vecer za zenske. Se bomo zbrale na kupu, jedle in klepetale.

Letos smo se imeli super z vsemi sosedi. Celo Andy se je uspel ustvait ceprav je delal. Enzo in Oliva sta se posebno uzivala. Ko je Oliva videla porisanega Enza si je tudi ona mogla it porisat.

Yearly picnic with neighbours. We all look forward to it because we gather and have a chance to catch up. We get to find out what happened through the year, who traveled where. We get to see how much children grew. This year we agreed to have a spring garage sale together. This way we will get to attract more people to our street and get rid of stuff we don't want.

And this fall I am hoping to get girls together for dinner, chat.

This year we had a blast again. Despite working Andy was able to stop by. Enzo and Olive loved it as they both got painted faces. Olive saw Enzo and had to go get her face done.

Andy dela cez vikend in praznik jutri
Veliko sama z otroci. Poskusam zapolnit nas cas karkoli najboljse mozno. Igrisce, obisk s sosedo.
Dopoldne sli v manjse nakupovanje. Kupili barvo za moj projekt in nove kavbojke za mene.
Moj manjsi projekt cez vikend je prebarvat polico nad kaminom belo. Imam vsaj se dvakrat za prepleskat da bo zares dobro izgledalo.
Po opravkih danes prisli domov in Andy je zacel pect pizze za otroka za kosilo. Oliva bila ze neznansko utrujena toda sva jo zelela nahranit. Pojedla pizzo in sva jo kasneje nasla speco na mizi. Oz Enzo nama je povedal, da Oliva spi ko je tudi sam koncal svoj del.
Poslikala ves film za kamero. Mislim, da barvni film ne bo uspesen. Upam, da crno bel bo vsaj nekaj dobrih fotografij imel. Mislim, da imam raje digitalno fotko. Ceprav se znam premisliti ko bom dobila razvite slike nazaj.

I am by myself a lot with kids. I am trying to fill our time as best as possible. Going to the playground, visiting with the neighbour.
In the morning did a small shopping. Bought paint for my weekend project and a new pair of jeans for me.
My small project for this weekend is to paint the mantel white. I have to paint it at least twice more with the paint to achieve the look I want.
After running errands we came home. Andy started making pizza for kids' lunch. Olive was very tired but we wanted her to eat before taking a nap. She finished her pizza and we found her sleeping on the table. Or Enzo really told us after he finished his share of pizza.
Finished the film in the camera. I think the colored film is not going to be very successful but I am hoping black and white might turn out good. I think I like digital photography better but I could change my mind after I get the prints back.

Enzo je zacel z ucnimi urami klavirja prejsnji teden. Jih ima enkrat na teden za 30 minut. Nasa soseda cez cesto ga poucuje. Samo od prve vadbe ze zna zaigrat pesem Mary Had A Little Lamb. Je zelo ponosen na sebe. Vsakic ko se kdo vstavi pri nas jo zeli zaigrat. Da se bo poznalo, da je med tednom vadil sva z Andyjem rekla, da jo mora zaigrat petkrat na dan. Malo zvadi zjutraj in malo popoldne. Vcasih ga ulovim, da igra brez da bi mu kdo rekel, da moram. Mislim, da so ure klavirja najboljsa odlocitev za njega.

Enzo started piano lessons last week. He has them once a week for 30 minutes. Our neighbour across the street is teaching him. Just from the first lesson he already knows how to play Mary Had A Little Lamb. He is so proud of himself. He wants to play the song for everyone who stops by the house. To get really good by the next lesson we established the rule to play the song five times a day. He practices some in the morning and some in the afternoon. Sometime I even catch him playing without the need to be prompted. I think lessons were the best decisions for him.

Novi cevlji za v jesen. Mi je zanimivo kako smo lahko za Enza imeli samo en par cevljev glede na letni cas. Sele sedaj pri sestih letih jih ima malo vec. Oliva pa ima ze od vsega zacetka po vec parov cevljev. Ker je punca se zares ne da samo preiti letnega casa v supergah. Sedaj ima tudi sandale poleg superg, poletnih sandalov in zimskih skornjev. Upam, da ji bo vse prav do pomladi.

New shoes for fall. It is interesting how we were able to have only one pair of shoes for Enzo per current season. Just now at six years old he has more pairs. Olive had a couple of pairs to pick from the beginning. Because she is a girl it is not possible to spend all her time in sneakers. Now we also have fall sandals, sneakers, summer sandals and winter boots. I hope everything will fit her until spring.

Nova igraca. Soseda, ki je imela vrtec se je odlocila it nazaj v sluzbo in prodaja vse igrace in vse kar je imela za svoj vrtec. V zibko, stol sem se zaljubila ze ko sem ga videla pri njej. Velikokrat iskala po trgovinah podobno stvar, po internetu in danes se nam je nasmehnila sreca. Oliva se po vecerji totalno zaigrala in sem zares neznansko navdusena.

Andy in jaz sva upala, da bi lahko igralo spravila do bozica in ji ga takrat podarila. Na zalost naju je Enzo videl, ko sva jo kupila. Sedaj se bova morala spomnit nekaj drugega.

New toy. Our neighbour who used to have a daycare decided to go back to work. She is selling all her toys. I fell in love with the crib, high chair combo when I saw it first in her house. I kept looking around in stores and internet too to find the same one or something similar. Today we got lucky. After dinner Olive kept playing and I am over the moon happy.

Andy and I were hoping to be able to give it to her for Christmas but Enzo saw us purchase it. Now we need to come up with a different idea for Christmas.

Sporocilo ki me je cakalo na tabli ko sem prisla domov iz sluzbe. Moje prvo sporocilo od Enza. Enzo je ostal se en dan doma zaradi vrocine. Ga je Andy peljal na pregled kjer niso vedeli kaj mu je. Da verjetno bo vrocina presla in gre jutri lahko ze v solo.

Zjutraj ko odhajala z Olivo v vrtec sem prvi opazila da ze veze stavke. Jo je Andy zapel v avto sedez in se poslovil od nje, ko mi je zacela govorit: "Daddy home." Neverjetno hitro raste.

A note which was waiting for me on the chalkboard when I got home. My first note from Enzo. He stayed home another day because of fever. Andy took him to the doctor where they have no idea what is wrong with him. Their guess is that the virus will pass and he can return to school tomorrow.

In the morning when Olive and I were getting ready to leave I have noticed she is talking in sentences for the first time. Andy buckled her in the car seat for me and closed the door. She looked at me and started saying: "Daddy home". She is growing too fast.

Nedelja. Polna, hitra. Oliva mi zagotovo ne pusti pocivat in sem stalno na prstih za njo. Od tega da se z uzitkom vrze v sendvic z Nutelo kot tudi zaspi v narocju in pomaga pri pleskanju. Enzo se ze cetrti dan bojuje z vrocino. Jutri se ostaja doma in mislim, da ga bomo tudi kar peljali pokazat k pediatrinji. Andy se celi po sluzbeni akciji. Globoke modrice po rokah in nogah. Ker se je vrnil nazaj v sluzbo meni ni bilo dolgcas doma z Olivo in Enzom. Oliva je vsekakor bila najbolj srecna cim vec casa sva prezivljali vzunaj. Barvala sem nove okvirje in platna za steno v sluzbi. Sem si preuredila pisarno in rabim vec okraskov.

Sunday. Full, quick. Olive never lets me rest and keeps me on my toes constantly. She enjoys life to the fullest. From eating a Nutela sandwich, from falling asleep in my lap to helping me paint. Enzo is fighting a fever for the fourth day. Tomorrow he will stay home another day and most likely see a pediatrician too. Andy started healing after the action at work. He has deep bruises on his arms and legs. As he returned back to work I am not bored with Olive and Enzo at home. Olive was the happiest the more time we spent outside. I was painting more picture frames and canvases. I rearranged my office at work and need more art for the wall.

In July we were lucky with taking family photos.

4th of July was celebrated with our neighbours and their family. They have a lovely backyard, served amazing food.
Celebrated Enzo's 6th birthday with friends and grandparents. Served pizza, chocolate cake and had kids play in water outside.
We vacationed in Slovenia with my family for two weeks. Kids were amazing traveling. Time with family was superb. Food was amazing. I still miss ice cream, afternoon cappuccinos.
Andy went to the dentist. Got his tooth fixed that was hurting him on vacation.
Signed up Enzo for school. Bought school supplies, school uniforms.
Olive started using disposable diapers. Andy and I decided we were just done with cloth diapers and now prefer disposables. Olive started telling us more when she has a dirty diaper.

The only picture we took of ourselves this month. June started feeling busy and stressed.

Olive had a bad yeast infection. We have earned she does not do well eating acidic foods. Like apple juice, too much pasta sauce.
Enzo started two weeks of swimming lessons. He did great. Because of the lessons and an awesome teacher he started being very comfortable in the water. If we would end up having longer summer he would be able to swim on his own.
Andy and I celebrated 9 years of wedding bliss. We went out for dinner and to see Hangover 2. We both liked the movie. The restaurant where we ate not so much.
My biopsy result for the lump in the breast was negative. Nothing to worry about at all. Ever.
We tried to attend Thursday night concerts downtown. Kids had a blast.
We hosted a BBQ for Traffic Unit from Andy's work. Almost all of his co-workers and their families attended. For the first time Andy and I made cevapcici for a bigger group of people. They were a hit.
We visited my friend Katie and her family for the day. I loved holding her new baby boy Reid. Before the visit we spent a couple of hours at the public pool there. Had a blast and we are hoping to return next year.
Annual Royals game with Lucy and Pete. Spent the night with them, made crepes for breakfast. Had a blast at the game. This year we left Olive at home with grandparents and it was the right decision. I had a hard time with it but in the end it was good. We concentrated on Enzo and time with him.
I made a first dress for Olive. Black and white jersey striped one. We have already left the dress in Slovenia for Rapa.
Participated in the 5K. Pushed Olive in the strolled the whole way. It was hot but in the end it was not so bad. I felt great after it.
Found a new recipe for the best chocolate cake. It is called Horseradish Grill's Chocolate Chocolate Cake.

Bolni. V zacetku tedna je bila njegova sestra bolna. Sedaj je on na vrsti. Bil samo pol dneva v soli in jutri bo tudi se ostal doma, ker ima vrocino. V soboto bo ze ok, ce ima isto virozo kot Oliva. Danes cez popoldne bil razvajan od starih starsev, jutri od daddyja, starih starsev in mamice.

Sick. At the beginning of the week his sister was sick. Now it is his turn. He was only in school for half a day before we got a call. He will stay home tomorrow as he keeps running a fever. He should be good by Saturday if he has the same virus as Olive. This afternoon he was spoiled by grandparents, tomorrow it will be daddy, grandparents and mami.

Vsako leto za praznik v septembru imamo v soseski piknik z vsemi sosedi. Danes zvecer smo raznesli v vse hise vabila, da ne bomo vsi pozabili na letno druzenje. Raznosili smo tocno 40 vabil. Lansko leto sta nam mama in ata pomagala prestet hise. Letos sem kar na blef kopirala in se nam je dobro seslo.

Zvecer sta se oba otroka kopala in je Enzo dobil darilo od sestre v kadi. Kakec. Je na sreco hitro skocil iz banje in se je zanj dobro seslo. Ona je bila dodatno okopana, ociscena in zribana. Ha!

Every year for a holiday in September we have a block party in the neighbourhood. Tonight we took invitations to every house on the block. To remind everyone of the annual picnic. We delivered 40 invitations. Last year mama and ata helped us count the house. This year I just made up the number as I copied and it turned out perfect.

Tonight as both kids were taking a bath Enzo got a little present from his sister. Poopy. Luckily he jumped out of the tub in time. She got an extra wash, clean and, scrub. Ha!

Drugi teden sole in mi je bilo dano vedt od Enza da poljubljanje v javnosti ni vec zazeleno. Sem ga lahko samo potrepljala in odsla v sluzbo. Imam v planu novo taktiko. Bomo se poslovili doma in zjutraj bo samo odsel v solo.

Oliva ima virozo. Se vedno ima vrocino toda upam, da jutri bo ze brez nje.

On second week of school Enzo let me know I can no longer kiss him goodbye. I was only able to pat him and walk away to the car. Now I have a new plan. We will be saying goodbyes at home and he can just walk to school without mushy mom hanging on him.

Olive was diagnosed with a virus. Fever remains but I hope she breaks out of it by tomorrow.

Zjutraj se vsi veseli zbudili. Enzo si je sam poiskal obleke, ker ima sedaj "uniformo" za solo loceno od ostalih cunj. Sem preuredila omaro, da bo lazje zacel jutra. Nato smo imeli za zajtrk palacinke. Oliva je bila nad vesela, ker smo ze takoj zjutraj sli na sprehod. Enzo je celo pot do sole hodil in niti enkrat se ni pritozil. Popoldne ko iz njega vlekla informacije o soli izvedela, da je cel dan sedel skupaj z Nicholasom in Matthew-om, da je za kosilo vse pojedel in pri kosilu je sedel z dvema puncama. Da so se naucili znake za usedi se in vstani v jeziku gluhonemih. Sedaj komaj cakam kaksno bo jutrisnje porocilo.

In the morning we all woke up happy. Enzo picked out his own clothes. His uniform clothes are separated from regular clothes to make it easy on him in the mornings. We had crepes for breakfast. Olive was beyond happy that we got to go for a walk first thing in the morning. Enzo walked the whole way to school and did not complain even once. In the afternoon Andy and I were trying to get as much info out of him as possible. We found out he was sitting with Nicholas and Matthew all day. Ate everything at lunch and he was sitting with two girls. They learned sign language signs for sit and stand. Now I can hardly wait to hear about tomorrows day.

magnetna tabla/magnetic chalkboard

V kuhinji sem si zelela tablo za po njej pisat z kredo. Se mi je zdelo, da bi znala bit dober center za opomine, pisanje pomembnih datumov, puscanje sporocil. Sem nasla vecji okvir za $4. Na internetu sem poiskala ideje in nasla odlicno porocilo kako naredit magnetno tablo (link). V enem dnevu sem prebarvala okvir in zelezno tablo s crno barvo za pisanje po njej s kredo. Zelezna tabla je potrebna, da je lahko tudi magnetna za pripenjanje listkov na njo. Celoten projekt je bil mnogo cenejsi kot, ce bi kupovala tablo. Okvir, barve in tabla so bile $37.50. Kar je skoraj petkrat cenejse. Komaj cakam, da jo bom lahko zacela uporabljat in mogoce ze jutri zvecer napisem nanjo listo opravkov.

I was wishing for a chalkboard in our kitchen. To make it a center of notes, messages, reminders. I found a picture frame at Salvation Army for $4. On the internet I found great instructions on how to make your own magnetic chalkboard (link). In a day I was able to paint the frame and a galvanized sheet metal. The sheet metal needs to be galvanized if you wish for the chalkboard to be magnetic. I have painted the sheet metal with a black chalk paint in a can. I was able to make three coats of it on 20x36 sized sheet. Making it ourselves proved to be about five times cheaper. For the frame, paint and galvanized sheet we have spent $37.50. I am super excited to start using it and I might write a list of things to-do on it tomorrow night.

Ze mnogo casa razmisljala, da nasa stena v dnevni sobi rabi nekaj vec umetnosti. Ali posterji, fotografije,... Pred dopustom me je prijelo, da bi zacela spreminjat manjse stvari v hisi in ko smo prisli domov sem si zadala projekt. Nasla okvirje in ideje kaj z njimi naredit. V nadaljevanju imam namen odbrat nekaj fotografij in jih razvit, uokvirit in dodat.

For a while I have been thinking that our wall in the living room needs more art. Graphic art, photographs,... Before vacation I have decided I will start making little changes to the house. When we returned I stepped into action. I found the frames and got ideas what to do. In the future I plan on selecting a couple photographs and frame them to be added to the wall.

Zadnje case se opazam, da velikokrat recem NE predno sploh pomislim, ce je mozno. Da velikokrat odlasam odgovor na kasneje ali cez minuto ali pojdi daddyja vprasat. In sem se danes odlocila, da bom poskusila veckrat mogoce stvarem pritrdit. In sva danes za sladico naredila S'mores nad stedilnikom. In je bilo zabavno in prav nic tezko. Da sem mu s tem, ko sva jih skupaj naredila, skupaj sedela ko jedla pokazala, da mi on zelo veliko pomeni.

Lately I have noticed I've been saying NO to everything before I even think if it possible. That I am delaying my answer and saying "in a minute" or go ask daddy. Today I have decided to try and change it. To say yes to more things. For a dessert tonight we have made S'mores over the stove. It turned out fun and easy. I am hoping that I showed him how much he means to me with taking the time to make them, to sit with him and indulge in them. He means so much to me.

Vecer z Andyjevo sluzbo. Piknik in ure v najetem bazenu do poznega vecera. Oliva in Enzo samo padla v posteljo ko prisli domov. Andy in jaz sva si vseeno se pogledala film King's Speech. Odlicen, ce si razpolozen za pocasen film, zgodovinski film in odlicno igranje. Sama bila vseeno kar malo razocarana, ker so vsi tako hvalili film. Tezko tudi razumela veliko stvari. Mogoce zaradi britanske anglescine. Andy mi je tezko bil v pomoc, ker je na pol prespal film.

Evening with Andy's work. A picnic and hours at the rented pool until late night. Olive and Enzo fell into bed when we got home. Andy and I still decided to watch King's Speech. A great movie if you are in the mood for a slow movie, historical movie and excellent acting. I was a bit disappointed when everyone was praising the movie so much. It was hard to understand at times. Maybe because of British English. Andy was not much of help as he slept through some of the movie.

Prva kita. Bila tako vesela, da sem jo zjutraj morala takoj poslikat. Po slikanju sem sibala se uredit zadnje stvari in kasneje sem vse tri nasla na kavcu. Sem mogla zopet ven potegnit fotko in jih dokumentirat. So pili mleko, se malo spali in cakali, da je mamica nared za odhod.

First braid. I was so happy over it that I had to document it right away. After I ran around the house to get the last things ready. Came back to the room and found all three on the couch. Got the camera again and snapped away. They were finishing milk, tried to catch some more sleep and waited for mommy to finish getting ready.

it is impossible to think that he is that grown up yet but at the same time it is fun watching his brain work. Lately he has lots of interesting questions. Yesterday he wanted to know why I have an office all to myself and where do I meet with students. Today he wanted to know how photographs are developed.

Nova torba za solo. Nisem zelela mu je kupit ker sem vedla da mu lahko eno naredim. Sedaj moramo samo ugotovit za kaj jo bo v soli rabil in ce je dovolj velika. V cetrtek zvecer bo prvo veliko srecanje s tovarisico in novimi sosolci.

New tote bag for school. I did not want to buy one as I knew I can make him one. Now we only need to find out if it is big enough for whatever they will be using it in school. Thursday evening is our first meeting with the teacher and new classmates.

Ogledovanje klavirjev. Odlocanje med pravim klavirjem in digitalnim klavirjem.
Iskanje vecje table za pisanje s kredo po njej. Bi jo rada namontirala na steno v kuhinji. Solsko leto se zacenja in bi rada bila organizirana.
Zacetek normalne rutine. Vrtec, sluzba, vecerja, opravki, spanje in jovo na novo.
Checking out pianos. Deciding between a classic piano and digital one.
Looking for a bigger chalkboard. Would like to mount it on the wall in the kitchen. New school year is starting and I would like to be organized.
Starting a normal daily routine. Daycare, work, dinner, errands, sleeping and starting all over again.

Se mi je zdelo, da je pocasna sobota in da sem neproduktivna. Pa na koncu dneva ni tako slabo.

I thought Saturday was moving along slow and is unproductive. At the end of the day it turned out not so bad.

Enzu nakupili uniformo za solo. Bo hodil v privatno katolisko solo in ima zapovedano uniformo. Khaki ali temno modre hlace, bele ali temno modre polo mikice. Zelo preprosto in enostavno./Bought Enzo school uniforms. He will be attending a private catholic school. He can wear khaki or navy blue pants, white or navy blue polo shirts. Very plain and simple.

Dvakrat jokala, ko se pogovarjala o dopustu in druzini. Enkrat s prijatelji in drugic s sosedo. Mi je ze mnogo lazje toda se vedno jih pogresam. In se vedno samo poslusam Adele./Cried twice when talked about vacation and family. Once with friends and second time with a neighbour. It is getting easier but I still miss them. I am continuing to listen to Adele.
Enza vpisala v ure klavirja. Soseda ga bo z zacetkom sole zacela ucit. Jaz sem super navdusena on je zelo indiferenten. Last day. In the morning spending last money. Buying kids shoes. Fabric for a new tablecloth.
Walking with Andy to the little market in the village and buying groceries we wanted to take back. Spent crazy amount of money on it. But at least we won't have to ask for shipments for a while.
Packing suitcases. There were moments when I ran away from it. I dislike packing very much.
Coffee and the best homemade cream cheese cake after lunch. My sister made it.
Attempted taking more pictures of the kids and kind of failed. Again girls had a very hard time cooperating.
Soccer in the afternoon. Andy was hitting the soccer ball with his head, my sister scored a goal, Olive loved running with me.

Morning spent in the kitchen. Cooking lunch for all fifteen of us. Adults and kids.
I was in charge of breading and frying chicken, pork. Learned from better cooks than me that it is not possible to overload the frying pan. Meats still fries well in it.
Playing soccer at the playground. It was lots of fun and I wish we would have opportunity to get everyone on the field. I think I still have some bruises from it today.
Attempted taking pictures of grandkids. It did not go well at all. Mostly girls complained a lot.
In the evening my mom and I drove to my sister's where we spent some time in sauna and chatting a lot.

The four of us spent morning and early afternoon in Ljubljana. We took Enzo to the castle.
A new thing in town is a cable car to the top of the hill where the castle is. It was amazing to see the view of the city below.
Andy and Enzo made it up the tower on the castle. Got even better view of everything below. Olive and I stayed on the ground.
Went to the same pastry shop with the best ice cream. They did not have my favorite one ready yet, but I got second best one. We have also ordered a bunch of cakes to try.
We shopped some. Got some more clothes, a purse, a book, toys.
Picked up fresh flowers at the market for mom.
Returned home to have grilled dinner with everyone. My sister made the best salads (Greek salad and tzatziki sauce) and dessert (apricot strudel). Both my mom and my sister are amazing cooks. I still have lots to learn. My dad is a king of the grill.
My sister spent the night at my parent's. We put kids to bed and went for a walk, talked on a deck until early morning.

Train ride to Lasko with my parents, niece Izabela and four of us.
Our destination was hotel/spa with an inside and outside pool. We swam for few hours.
Olive took an almost two hour nap on a lounge chair.
Had lunch at the hotel. It was self served and we were able to pick amazing food. Mashed potatoes, pasta, veggies, all kinds of meat, gnocchi, salads. Let me not talk about desserts. I think Andy and I tried every possible cake offered.
Took an hour of a train ride back. Enzo was excited about taking a "bullet train". He says it was going so fast that you could not stand on it.
On a ride back we found a guy wearing Tigers jersey. I talked to him to find out how he got it and said he bought it himself. He was not very talkative and we do not know if he was in Missouri or someone got it for him. It was still very cool to see a Tiger fan out of the blue.
Arriving back to Ljubljana we stopped at McDonalds to make Enzo feel at home. He ate a whole cheeseburger from a Happy Meal.
On this trip we lost Enzo's and mine sweatshirts. This is a second sweater of mine I lost this year.
In the evening my brother, Andy, Ali, my sister and I met up at the Mexican restaurant. I ate my favorite chipotle peanut sauce. For a main dish I picked chicken coated with the chipotle peanut sauce. I did not get enough of it. I could easily have more right now. It is the best thing ever.
After dinner we stopped at another place to have drinks before heading home. The city was full of people even late in the evening.
