prvi dan/first day

On vacation. We have arrived after 29 hours. I am going to try and record our days with pictures and funny stories.

• Our flight was suppose to go St. Louis - New York - Zurich - Ljubljana. The flight from New York to Zurich had four hours delay due to mechanical error. We were already in line to take off when a passenger noticed a spray coming from a wing. We had to taxi back to the gate and deplane. They had us walk from gate 47 to gate 12. When we arrived at gate 12 they told us they made a mistake and they are going to fix our original plane so we had to walk back to gate 47. The plane left 4 hours late and we missed our connecting flight in Zurich. When we landed in Zurich they told us they would get us on a different flight to Munich, but it was leaving in 45 min. We ran through the airport with 2 kids and thanks to a hard working agent we got booked on the other flight and were pushed to the front of the line through security. More running and we made it on the plane. Once in Munich we only had half an hour to catch our flight to Ljubljana. After 29 hours we finally made it, but our luggage did not. It took another 28 hours for our luggage to get here. We sure missed our toothbrushes. We are hoping that is the only bump in our vacation.
• July 13th was Enzo's 6th birthday. On American Airlines they announced he is celebrating and the whole plane clapped for him. Swiss Airline gave him a shoulder bag and a ton of Swiss chocolates, snacks.
• We were greeted with homemade lunch and a birthday party for Enzo at my parents' house. Enzo and Olive from the first minute made themselves at home.
• Funny conversation between Enzo and Izabela. They were both talking to each other in their native languages. Enzo asked her if she has ever had Nutella before. She looks at him, thinks about it and says "no, that was my old car". The kids are getting along splendidly.
